Maria Marouda, is Asst Professor in International Law, Humanitarian Law, Human Rights, Panteion University, Jean Monnet. Chair EU Solidarity on Civil Protection and Humanitarian Action, 1st Vice Chair European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, Council of Europe, 1st Vice Chair, Hellenic Red Cross.
She is alternate Director of European Training and Research Center on Human Rights & Humanitarian Action of Panteion University. Member of the Comité pour le Concours Jean Pictet, since 2003
Fr Legal Officer of the Hellenic Committee on International Humanitarian Law (1999-2005), as well as former Protection Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Sri Lanka (1997-1999). Elections Supervisor OSCE in Bosnia Herzegovina, and Albania (1996-1997), Research Assistant, UNHCR- Greece 1995-6.
Holds a PHD (2004) in International Law and a Post Doc on “Humanitarian Space Discourse in the 21st Century: Legal framework for an effective and safe humanitarian action”, I. Sideris Publisher, 2012. Has conducted more than 13 studies within the European Migration Centre since 2013 (on behalf of Greece) and is an author of numerous books and publications.
