Peter Spiegel is news editor of the Financial Times, overseeing the media group’s daily news operation both in print and online. As news editor, Peter has run the FT’s news gathering through Britain’s momentous referendum to leave the EU and Donald Trump’s election as US president. In 2017, the FT won five British Press Awards, the UK’s highest journalism prize, including website of the year. Peter took over as head of the FT’s London newsroom after six years as Brussels bureau chief, where he headed the paper’s coverage of the eurozone crisis.
