Evangelos Mytilineos
Mr. Evangelos Mytilineos is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MYTILINEOS, one of Greece’s leading industrial groups.
Born in Athens in 1954, Mr. Evangelos Mytilineos is a graduate of the Department of Economic Sciences of the University of Athens and also holds a postgraduate degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
He has received numerous distinctions and awards for his entrepreneurial activities. He is also a member of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), Greece’s most influential independent employers’ and enterprises’ association.
In 1978, Mr. Evangelos Mytilineos took over the family business of metal and steel product manufacturers and established MYTILINEOS Holdings Group. Following a very productive and successful yet challenging period, in 1995, MYTILINEOS entered the Athens Exchange.
Nowadays, MYTILINEOS, after the successful completion of the corporate transformation of the Group and the integration of its other subsidiaries, has a strong international presence in Europe, the Middle East, America and North Africa with activity in numerous countries and a workforce of more than 2,700 employees in Greece and abroad. The Company is a global leader in the EPC sector (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) through METKA and the largest vertically integrated aluminium and alumina producer in the European Union through Aluminium of Greece, one of the most robustly growing industrial businesses in Greece. MYTILINEOS is the second largest power producer in Greece with Protergia which is among the leading private players in the Energy sector and the largest independent electricity producer in Greece. The Company's Gas Trading Business Unit activity is mainly focused on sourcing, trading and marketing natural gas under competitive terms, allowing it to empower the Company’s Energy assets, while also achieving notable organic development.
In 2017, Mr. Evangelos Mytilineos completed a major corporate action, merging all major subsidiaries into MYTILINEOS S.A.
