Nikos Androulakis is an MEP with the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.

Nikos Androulakis was born on the 7th of February 1979 and comes from Heraklion, Crete. He is a graduate of the Civil Engineering School at the Democritus University of Thrace. He continued his studies with a postgraduate degree in the use of “New Materials and Technologies in Reinforced Concrete” from the same department.

In 2006 he was elected in the Central Committee of the Technical Chamber of Greece as a representative of eastern Crete. In 2008 he was elected in the Central Political Committee of PASOK. In 2013 he was re-elected in the Central Political Committee with the highest number of votes and was chosen as its Secretary General. In 2014 he contested successfully the European Parliament elections as a candidate with the PASOK-Elia ticket.   

In the European Parliament he is a member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D). He is a full member of the AFET (external affairs) and D-CN (relations with China) Committees. Furthermore he is a substitute member in ENVI (environment), DROI (human rights), SEDE (security and defence) and DLAT (Latin America). In 2016 he was nominated by the S&D group to participate in the inquiry Committee for the Volkswagen emissions scandal.
